Guys and their insecurities.I do not know what is it with some guys, really. Want to know but don't, don't get it and never will. I used to date this guy who would all the time, talk about how i would probably cheat on / leave him one day etc etc, and that even if i don't, i'll probably get tired of him. The thing is, he's a bit of a ladies' man himself, and would flirt with other women even when we were still dating.
So.... while he flirted around, i was expected to keep my distance from all hetrosexual homo sapiens of the opposite sex. I kept quiet, i don't know why (what do u say when a guy tells u, "i may flirt around, but the only one i love is you"?). Maybe he flirted to satisfy his insecurities, and maybe i liked him too much to say anything at the time, i don't know, but some way or another, the issue remained unresolved for a while. I was further infuriated by the reason for the said insecurities "Cos you are Sandralicious...."
I must admit that i have extremely limited knowledge of relationships, but pray tell, it is all about mutual agreements, is it not? Just like marriage is a binding contract between 2 people in love, a dating relationship is a contract between 2 people in like, be it verbal or unspoken. We talk about trust, understanding, and faith all the time, but how much is it worth in a relationship, really? I'm not a demanding person when it comes to relationships (if i do say so myself), but one thing i value is equality of the sexes.Thus if the guy i date flirts around, i might be able to handle that (ok i'm lying), i'll just have to take the relationship with a pinch of salt (another lie) and also, be granted the same rights.
And Sandralicious is... no one to shout about. If your name is Mary, you can just call yourself Marylicious or whatever. It's just an inside joke that some of my friends came up with, and if being Sandralicious does not bother me, why should it bother you? Bottomline, at the end of the day, i eat instant noodles (i love the korean kimchi kind) when i'm too lazy to go buy dinner, and i take the bus to work everyday, just like everyone else. And if no one can handle that, i'll just have to stay single till i find someone who does.
P.S: Just realised that i sound bitter. I'm actually in quite a good mood la. Just got carried away, i think. :D
