December - My time of the year.

Birthday, Christmas all in 1 month. Now it can't get any better than this, can it?

Now i know my birthday post is a very belated one (the big day was 16 days ago). Wrote this sometime back but was too busy to complete the entry.

It has definitely been an eventful weekend, with birthday dinners everyday from friday thru tuesday, sweet little gifts from precious friends, and numerous e-cards and well wishes from blog readers. There were a number of requests for my birthday wish list the first time i mentioned my bday, but i'm really not about to whore for presents in my blog. Your best wishes would do just fine :)

Birthdays used to mean the world to me. Not that i actually cared about the meaning, if there's any to begin with. As a little girl my birthdays were filled with cupcakes, barbie dolls, and frilly dresses (yes the kind with puffy sleeves). As i moved into my teenage years, birthdays became a good excuse for me to hold bbq cookouts and hang out with my friends all night long without getting any grief from my aunt. Truth be told, i didn't much fancy spending birthdays with my family at all, or whats left of it. It reminded me too much of how much i've lost, growing up in a broken family. Now i'm just grateful.
