ForgivenessDear friend,
You gave my puppy a hard shove yesterday. Before i could stop you, you threw him out of the room and slammed the door. You claimed that you were frustrated. You thought he didn't like you because he tried to "bite" you. You were in a bad mood. You have anger control problems. Be it reasons or excuses, there are things which i want to tell you.
George is just a puppy. He is a child. A child who's teething, nibbles on everyone and everything. Not that i'm condoning his behaviour, but it takes time and patience to train an animal, even one as smart as he is.
In the car, i cried for the first time in months. I didn't sob; you must know that is not my style. But i couldn't help the tears that flowed freely and silently. You insisted that he's just a dog. Just a dog, yes. He's just a dog to many, but he means the world to me. I do not see any bite scars on you, but my heart broke when i saw you shove him away roughly.
The shove probably didn't hurt him physically. He might be slightly shocked, but i guess he will forget about it in a matter of minutes. But i cannot and will not, forget the act of violence towards a helpless animal. My dear friend, i am still trying to find it in my heart to forgive you, so please, give me time.
