Thinking twice.

I think about the things i can do.
I think about the things i want to say.
It has become part of me to just shut up and think.
So much so that
Instead of living life
Thinking has become my life.

In Primary 1, I had a classmate who was also my dance partner for the school National day celebration. (I bribed him with a tic-tac.) [(does anyone still remember those?)] We each had to hold a stalk of orchid, hold hands, hop around the stage, and yell "HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!" at the end of the dance while the rest of our classmates stood behind us with their faces painted red and white.

The dance was wonderful. We looked like complete idiots, everyone was laughing, and i'm sure Singapore was happy with our performance. Still holding hands, we exited the stage smiling, and right there behind the curtain, i hugged him without thinking, without shame, without hesitation.

I've forgotten everything about him except the hug.
It liberated me in a way nothing else did.
To show affection for a friend of the opposite sex without being misunderstood.
Without being judged.

I think about hugging my male friends again.
I don't do that now.
But i do think about it.

P.S: This is my weirdest post ever.

Something to say? =)
