Freitag, Mai 06, 2005 Not Jap enough for the Marche Ah Pek.A friend was in town for work some days ago, and we met for coffee and stories. It was funny; halfway through cookies and espressos, we both had a sudden craving for pork knuckles. So off to Marche we went. .............where we waited. Waited. And waited. For more than an hour. There, they let 2 japanese girls in before us. They'd just arrived, and the Marche ah pek opened the side gate for them. I enquired and another staff member told me they had no reservations. "Then why were they allowed tables first when we came before them?" I demanded. (i'm not not that fierce usually. But i was hungry.) "erm, miss, i don't know, they say hi to my colleague then he let them in." stuttered the nervous young man. I dropped it. Was too hungry to argue then. But even hours after the meal, when the the last of the pork knuckle had already been digested, i still couldn't digest the injustice. Then I figured that well, if i can't beat 'em, i might as well join 'em. Attempt #1. FAIL Attempt #2. Closed eyes accidentally - FAIL Attempt #3. AHA! See? Jap or not??!! i got the constipated act cute expression that they like to make leh. Take that u chao ah pek! And if all else fails, i can always imitate her. Everybody knows she's jap. Something to say? =) | | Permalink
